What Nexus Point Family Foundation has built
- A county directory of family help. For Missouri it covers 1,300 places and programs in 114 counties, with an address and phone number for each one and hours where they're known. The entries are grouped by kind of help, including food assistance, housing and shelter, utilities and financial help, child care and early education, and transportation. Browse Missouri by county.
- A resource map. You click your state and then your county to see food banks, housing, healthcare, child care and utility programs near you. Open the map.
- The Family Barter System. It's a county-by-county board where families give away cribs, strollers, coats and school supplies to other families for free. Browsing is open to anyone, and posting takes a free account. See the board.
- Renewal reminders. You enter your programs and their renewal dates, and it emails you 30 days, 14 days and 3 days before each one with the papers to gather. It costs nothing and doesn't need an account.
- A family events board. Farmers markets, story times, swaps and festivals are sorted by county, and it's free to browse or to add a family-friendly event.
The directory's hours and eligibility details come from public records that are refreshed every month, so a quick call before you go confirms the place is open and tells you what to bring.
